FLIGHTS: There is an airport right at Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo that is easily accessible. The airport code when making travel reservations is ZIH. It is possible to fly directly there without having to stop in Mexico City with several carriers-Aeromexico, Mexicana, Continental, Northwest and Alaska. MONEY: The Mexican currency is the peso. It is easy to use US dollars throughout the Mexico, you will no t get as favorable an exchange rate when using US currency. You will get the best exchange rate by using a credit card, or withdrawing cash from an ATM machine. There are not a lot of them throughout the city, but there are some that are easily accessible. There is one at the airport which you might find easiest, as well as two in Ixtapa.
