Once you arrive in Mexico, you will find
very little opportunity to find flies, extra equipment and tackle for
offshore and flats fishing. You will want to be prepared by making sure
you have all of the recommended items with you.

OFFSHORE
Rods: 12-14 weight rods are best for sailfish and marlin.
Reels: A sturdy large arbor reel with a good drag system that holds
at least 400 yds. of backing.
Fly Lines: Sink tip lines are what you will use. Deep sea lines
in 300-500 grain and floating lines are suggested. (Quantity 3)
Leaders: 16-20 lb. tippet with 100-125 lb. shock tippet. Climax
and Rio both make offshore leaders. (Quantity 2-4 per day per person)
