     The following is a list of additional items recommended to help make your trip more comfortable. Reminder: you must bring your own supplies. They will not be available on the island.

  • Rod repair kit
  • nacks from home or Hawaii
  • Kiribati visa and valid passport
  • Camera and plenty of film
  • Snorkel, mask and fins
  • Flashlight
  • Additional alcohol, if desired
  • Water bottle
  • Polarized glasses (copper or brown), cleaner and croakies
  • Spare eye-glasses
  • Line cleaner
  • Forceps and pliers
  • Reel lubricant
  • Nippers, nail knot tool, hook hone
  • Sunblock
  • Waterproof tape to protect fingers
  • Tape measure

     Clot hing for fishing should be in a Supplex or nylon material. This will help everything to dry quickly and to keep you protected from the sun throughout the day. Try to avoid cotton for flats gear.

  • Long sleeve Supplex or nylon shirts
  • Long pants of Supplex or nylon
  • Flats hat with long bill and flap
  • Light rain jacket
  • Neoprene socks
  • Flats wading shoes
  • Flats hip pack, to carry fishing essentials, and waterproof bag to protect camera, extra clothing, etc.
