information

FLIGHTS: The flights into the Patagonia region are best accessed through Buenos Aires. You will fly into either the airport in Bariloche or San Martin de los Andes in Chapelco, depending on where you trip is going to take place. Both locations are about a 3 hour flight from Buenos Aires, and are serviced by a number of Argentine domestic carriers.

PASSPORTS: A valid passport is required for all visitors to Argentina. You will be required to present your passport upon check-in at the airport.

VISA REQUIREMENTS: A visa is not required for US visitors to Argentina staying 90 days or less. For citizens or nationals of other countries, please consult your Argentine Consulate or contact us for more information.

MONEY: The Argentine money is the peso, which is now fluctuating. Check a major news paper for the current status of the peso. All your personal purchases will be made with the pesos so you should plan on having plenty of pesos with you in case ATM machines are out of paper money. Currency exchange houses are the easiest way to exchange your dollars for pesos and can be found in airports or in towns.

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS: There are no immunizations required for entry into Argentina. For the latest information on health and immunization requirements worldwide, you may visit the Center for Disease Control web-site at www.cdc.gov. Because you will be in a remote location once you are in Patagonia, make sure that you bring any required medications and basic first aid supplies. If you have a major health problem, it is wise to reconsider planning a Patagonia fishing trip due to the remoteness and physical requirements of the trip.

TRAVEL INSURANCE: We strongly recommend travel insurance for your trip to Patagonia. There is limited access to quality care due to the remote location of the fishing areas. We have taken great precautions in providing a trip that is safe and rewarding. In the event that something unexpected were to happen, it would be wise to have prepared in advance by purchasing travel insurance. Evacuation insurance is available for minimal coverage, and complete travel insurance is available for providing help with lost baggage, changed flights, etc. We can provide you with the necessary insurance information.
