You
will be in the middle of the wilderness in Alaska. For obvious reasons,
you must bring all of your own equipment to ensure that you have a successful
trip. The guides will have some extra equipment on hand, but it is always
nice to have your own back-up.
For trout, grayling & char:
- 3-6 weight rod
- 150 yards 20 lb.

For sockeye, chum, silver and pink salmon:
- 7-9 weight rod

Gear
The following is a list of gear that is recommended.
Always choose materials that are warm when wet - wool, polar fleece, etc.
The weather is usually 45-55 degrees F at night, and 55-75 degrees F during
the day most of the summer. It is more likely to rain than not, so the
most important item is good rain gear and waders. Most of the days in
the summer are rainy, and bugs can be a nuisance if there is no wind.
Make sure you are prepared with proper clothing to keep warm.
